Canaveral National Seashore preserves 24 miles of Florida's Atlantic coast adjacent to Kennedy Space Center — creating one of the most cinematically unique seashore environments in the United States. Playalinda and Apollo beaches offer wild, undeveloped Atlantic coastline while rocket launch infrastructure is visible just miles away. During Space X and NASA launches, seashore beaches provide dramatic launch-viewing positions with water foreground. The Timucuan shell mound of Turtle Mound, one of Florida's largest prehistoric middens, adds archaeological visual interest. Warm year-round weather, clear Atlantic water, and diverse bird life make this a versatile production location. NPS commercial filming permits required; beach closures are possible during launches or sea turtle nesting (May–October).
