“Pennsylvania's waterfall capital — 22 named waterfalls along a single trail system, including the 94-foot Ganoga Falls. Ancient old-growth hemlock groves, Lake Jean, and Allegheny Mountain terrain create an extraordinarily rich visual environment.”
Columbia State Historic Park in Columbia, California is the most complete surviving Gold Rush boomtown in California—original 1850s brick commercial buildings, a stagecoach stop, saloons, the Wells Fargo office, and an authentic Main Street preserved almost exactly as they stood during the 1850s mining boom. California State Parks manages the living historic site where period-costumed staff operate authentic businesses, and horse-drawn vehicles are sometimes available for period productions. Both interior period buildings and exterior Main Street filming available with California State Parks commercial use permit. The Gold Rush-era streetscape, period brick architecture, and Sierra Nevada foothills backdrop require almost no set augmentation for mid-19th-century California productions. Regularly used for Western film and TV productions. A premier California film location for Gold Rush and Western period drama. Filming permits available through California State Parks Film Coordinator. Seasonal commercial use permit required.
