Tybee Island Lighthouse has guided ships into the Savannah River since colonial times — the current black-topped white tower dates to 1867 and stands at the north end of Tybee Island, surrounded by tidal salt marsh, Spanish moss-draped oaks, and coastal Georgia atmosphere. The site includes four original keeper's cottages now available for rentals and events, all maintained by the Tybee Island Historical Society with experience in commercial use. The lighthouse's proximity to Savannah — a major Southeast film production hub with experienced crews, vendors, and established infrastructure — makes this an exceptionally practical location. Coastal Georgia's low-country marshes, the Savannah River mouth, and Fort Pulaski nearby expand the visual palette. Ideal for films seeking an antebellum Southern coastal atmosphere, maritime stories, or Civil War-era settings. The tower is climbable for elevated cinematography.
