“A 65-foot natural sandstone arch with a 78-foot span — one of the most impressive natural bridges in the eastern US, set within the Red River Gorge Geological Area. The arch frames spectacular canyon views. Sky Lift tram access adds visual production options.”
About This Location
San Antonio Missions National Historical Park encompasses five 18th-century Spanish colonial missions forming a UNESCO World Heritage corridor along the San Antonio River—Mission Concepción, San José, San Juan, Espada, and the famous Alamo complex nearby. The limestone church facades, granary ruins, acequia waterworks, living parish communities, and surrounding Texas river landscape create an unmatched Spanish colonial backdrop for period drama, frontier narrative, and documentary productions spanning three centuries of Texas history. NPS permits cover multiple mission environments with their distinct architectural characters—from the ornate Mission San José Rose Window to the stark ruins of Mission Espada. Both interior and exterior filming available with advance NPS coordination. A premier Texas film location regularly used for feature and TV productions. Filming permits available through San Antonio Missions NHP Superintendent. NPS Special Use Permit required; active parish churches require worship schedule coordination.
